Andrew McMahon Seattle Concert reviews
Gracefully Aged
After seeing other reviews where he only played an hour and fifteen minutes, I guess I should be happy he gave us a little over two hours. I thought the concert was great! I would recommend this tour to a true fan, but for those who only know Jack and Diane--stay home and listen to the old CD. However, if I had not already purchased and listened to the new CD, I would have been disappointed. His new CD exposes a little blue-grass sound so I knew this concert would be much different than the "rock-n-roll" sound I love so much --so I prepared myself for that. The rest of us don't want to hear your griping!! I wish he would have played another hour. It was also my first time at the Ryman. I saw Andrew ten years ago, and the concert "rocked" with his most popular hits. I took a friend who is not the fan that I am, but he grew up in the 80's and loved his hits---he was very disappointed because he changed the sound to the songs that he knew. I feel like it was Andrew's way of gracefully aging his sound. The sound was great!!
